About Qi:'gong/

To flow and move as fluid as water, to move as softly and gracefully as the passing clouds, standing strong, present and grounded as the tree.

Qigong is a simple, easy to learn, self care practise for body, mind, spirit. It is essentially a mindful, moving meditation practise that can be done by everyone, at any age and fitness level. It is a beautiful practise that has been developed through more than 5000 years of Chinese history to restore the life energy and creative power within oneself.

Qi (pronounced ‘chee’) translates as energy, vitality or life force. It is the animating power that flows through all living things. Gong translates as work, developing or cultivating. So, qigong literally means, working with life energy or energy cultivation

Encompassing many different styles, forms and traditions, Qigong can incorporate: acupressure, standing postures, slow stretches, gentle flowing movements, sound, visualisation and breathwork. Qigong by nature unravels and releases tensions and stress locked within our bodies, to restore a harmonious flow of new and vital energy throughout the body and into one’s life.

Qigong provides an opportunity to come home to self, to be embodied and present, to con-nect with not only ourselves but all life in a holistic and harmonious way. It cultivates inter-nal strength, vitality and a deeper sense of calm and tranquility in our daily lives. By regularly practising Qigong, this moving meditation has the power to transform your life and health and can unlock hidden abilities and potentials that we all inherently have.

Qigong is more than a set of exercises, it is an attitude that works to restructure one’s perspective on life, leading to balance and harmony with the world around us
